Brief History of GBHS Mbengwi

The Government Bilingual High School (GBHS) Mbengwi is a Secondary and High school, founded in 1973 and the first Government Secondary School in the Northwest Region of Cameroon. It operates both Boarding and Day school sections and welcomes students from all over Cameroon and beyond.

The first principal of the school was Mr D.B. TATA. The school started with only a few students now known as the “CATERPILLAR Batch” and a handful of teachers. However, it quickly grew in popularity and soon became one of the most prestigious secondary and high schools in Cameroon.

GBHS Mbengwi has a long and proud history of academic excellence. The school has produced many successful graduates who have gone on to make significant contributions to Cameroonian society and the world at large.

The 50th anniversary celebrations of GBHS Mbengwi is a unique opportunity to celebrate the school’s history and achievements. It is also a rear opportunity to come together as a community and give back to the school that contributed to molding us, our family and friends.

So, mark your calendars and be part of the festivities!

Thank you in advance for your participation and contributions.
